Projects in Jaffa

Music workshop for the kindergarten teachers of Jaffa with the musician Joan Sfadi, March 2008

All the Cats/ Joan Sfadi

All the cats, black and white
Arab and Jew, will never fight
like playing together
jumping each other

my wish is one day
all men will play
And live happily
The cattish way

All the cats, black and white
Arab and Jew, will never fight
like playing together
jumping each other

I wish those who rule
Will stop being cruel
And live like the cats
Nice and cool

Indimage's curricula for multicultural education in Jaffa's kindergartens

The project began in 2007 in collaboration with the Abraham Fund Initiatives, the city of Tel-Aviv Jaffa, and the Ministry of Education. The vision of this project is to create a multicultural climate in Jaffa's kindergartens. The project focuses on the creation of unique curricula and learning materials, which will address the question of the education in Jaffa's kindergartens.
Indimage developed a multilingual phrasebook in Arabic, Hebrew, Russian and Amharic for Jaffa's mixed kindergartens.

The Hirsch Center project

The Hirsch Center provides services to preschoolers belonging to Arab families from the whole of Jaffa, and to Jewish families from the area of Ajami. The center traces children with developmental difficulties, children at risk, children in need of therapy and tutoring, and provides them treatment. The center's staff includes social workers, speech therapists, psychologists, nurses and doctors.
At the end of 2007, Indimage's group facilitators began training the center's leading group of therapists, with the aim of developing educational and therapeutical programs that address the specific needs of Jaffa's population.
